VNU University of Science (VNU-HUS) is a public university. Its governance model is in regulatory compliance with Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. The University strives to become, by the year 2035, an advanced research university ranked in the top 100 universities in Asia. As a research university, VNU-HUS aim at high-quality human resource education, talent cultivation, research, development and knowledge transfer in the fields of natural sciences for the development and protection of the country. The University encourages and creates favorable working conditions for innovation and creativity, especially in training and scientific research. Knowledge creation is among the most important goals of the University. VNU-HUS is also committed to providing students the highest quality education and service. Staff and students always respect the spirit of serving the country, the people and mankind, to actively contribute to the socio-economic development of Vietnam. Realizing the importance of internal as well as external quality assurance, in the last 7 years, 12 programs have passed the external assessment by Asean University Network. In 2017, VNU-HUS was the first university in Southeast Asia taken under the external AUN-QA assessment at the institution level. Currently, the University has a total of 720 staff, 5,500 undergraduate students in 34 programs, 1,200 Master students in 45 fields of study, and 350 PhD students in 48 fields of study. The High School for Gifted Students now has 1,400 students in 5 majors.
